|| Review || Nars Sheer Glow Foundation
Ever since I started wearing makeup, I have been on the hunt for my perfect foundation. I've tried drugstore foundations that seem to always make me look like a prawn because it's too pink, foundations that aren't the right colour - either too dark or too light, to BB creams which either didn't have enough coverage or again was the wrong colour for me. Now I've tried Nars foundation before many years ago when I went back to Hong Kong one year and I thought being back in the country where people were of the same undertones as me, I would succeed in finding my right foundation. I did leave the country with a new foundation, but it was soon far too dark for sunless England! And so I was back to square one. =/
Once I became a student with the generous government paying for my beauty indulgences, I became acquainted with Mac Cosmetics I've tried several of their foundations, but again none that I loved. I don't know if my Studio Fix went out of date or whatnot, but it started to make me look orange! I then tried Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place foundation, but that ended up being too light. I wonder how much money I've spent on foundations... I dread to think!
Then came my 2nd Nars experience. Nars Sheer Glow foundation is super hyped and I'm a sucker for hype so I knew I had to get my hands on it. Off I went to John Lewis on Oxford Street and God did I have a horrible first experience. I was with my friend and was looking at the foundations, one of the Nars MUAs saw and didn't even ask if I was ok and when I did go ask her, she didn't seem all that bothered to help and swatched only on my forehead. I did end up buying a bottle in Mont Blanc and I thought that was weird because I knew that had pink undertones and I don't consider myself to have such undertones. But I thought the MUA has got to be right, she's the pro after all! Got home and put it on only to find I CAME OUT PINK. I actually went back to John Lewis two days after and complained and thank god got a replacement for my correct colour Deauville and I had a different MUA and she was lovely. I've had this foundation for around 2 months now and I don't wear it everyday, but each time I have worn it, I love it. I can apply it sheer or a more medium coverage and it seems to stay on my face pretty well, even after running errands on a warm day. It feels like and not like I've caked makeup on my face and from the photo, this shade is such a perfect match for me. I wouldn't call this foundation all that 'glowy' though so I don't know where they went wrong there. At £30.50 a bottle it's pretty pricey :( But then again a bottle can last me for the majority of the year if not longer. I personally love it and will probably buy it again when I'm finished, but I wouldn't mind trying the YSL Touch Eclat foundation at some and see how that feels, mainly because YSL is so much easier to find in England than Nars!
Sorry for the long post guys, but hope you enjoy!
